David Smith’s work was interesting, but none of it really inspired me. From what I saw, his sculptures were mostly landscape. When I was given the tools to create a sculpture, I was more interested in making a creature. My piece looks similar to a dinosaur. That is what inspired me to create an amusement park with a dinosaur land in it. I used the still of my traced sculpture to help me create my project. I first I wasn’t doing to well with this project because sketchup was a new program to me. After a while I got used to it and came out with a great final project. The background I chose to construct my environment was a small geysers. I chose this because back in the dino-days there were many geysers all over the place. When I think of geysers I think of dinosaurs. The ground around the geyser was kind of white and sandy, so I used a color that was closest to that. I put many palm trees in the background because those were that type of trees that were around back then. I don’t really hope for the reader to understand anything about my piece in particular. The most I want them to know is that it is an amusement park called Dino-Land. I mean there’s nothing I really want the viewers to think about when they see my work. I just want them to sit back and enjoy the show.
