Artist Statement
My audio piece came from Red Room (Child). I started this project by writing about various things from the art work to create my story, like the red hands, the ladder, and the hourglass. As I worked on my piece the background ideas changed, like where my story was to take place.
Audio is a different way of expressing artistic ideas, so it was a little challenging to get my point across. I used various sound clips to create a thunderstorm and have a reflective, sad and scary feeling. When I see Louise Bourgeois work, I see a lot of emotions into her pieces, which is why I wrote my story in this style.
