Artist Statement
The piece I chose is called Cell I. I chose this piece because in it on the bed are words about how the person’s memories are needed because to the person memories are documents. The words reminded me how important my memories are to me. I hope you will enjoy my piece.
From this project I learned how hard it is to use audio because you must tell a whole story without any visual. You must be able to paint a picture in the heads of your audience with just sound.
What was challenging about this project was finding the right sound affects to go with the story of your audio. You must choose sounds that not only go with the story but are also recognizable by the audience and are not overdone. When I was choosing sounds for my audio piece I relied on feedback from my peers in the program on whether the sounds I had first used were too much or just right.
