Artist Statement

As we got towards the ending of the program we were given an assignment. The assignment was to either to create a series (of photos) and/or create a collage. For the series, we had to take various pictures. Based on our pictures we had to choose a topic that we wanted to focus on.

In my series I decided to focus on activities that people do outside of their school/work area. I decided to choose that topic because its part of everyday life. Because of my surroundings, I called the series urban recreation. I became interested because this is something we all experience. It doesn’t specifically have to be the events that I photographed but, most people do some type of activity after they come out of school or their work place.
