“A baby chick!” was the first thing I thought when I looked at a specific David Smith sculpture. For some reason, it appeared very cozy and comforting, so I decided to attempt to base my final sculpture on that! Unfortunately, while working on it, my chick began to appear as a gruesome rooster. As I continued working on it, I noticed that my animal began to look stiff and numb. Is it the bird’s fault that I created it without wings? For that reason, I decided to place my final sculpture on a tree, where it can be as close to the sky as possible.
