My proposal is located just outside the Guggenheim Museum and just beyond the Central Park wall. I choose these sites because these areas are most common. Everyone and anyone can see my proposal. The most interesting part about these sites are the fact that they have never been used. The main purpose for my design is to express the power of being unique. Often people wouldn’t pay attention to these areas or realized the significance of these areas so my proposal puts the spotlight on them. I used stained glass gels and hung them from the tree branches. For the Guggenheim exterior I used Chinese stencil characters along the building. I think the public will not grasp the purpose of my proposal but they will notice it and draw attention to my design. In the end this is what I want. I want them focus and wonder. By looking at Daniel Buren’s installations at the Guggenheim Museum really help me come up with my over all purpose for my design. My inspiration was how Daniel Buren trade mark of stripes. He tends to take something so simple and open eyes with it. Do what has not been done. My design is unique and highlights the unique structures of everyday things. It makes you think how something so simple as letters can give a whole new meaning. I present to you “Unique.”
