My proposal is from the Guggenheim all the way to the Reservoir, which stretches across all the way. I selected this site because I wanted to use all the space we had possible and the boundaries, and since I’m such an ambitious person I just had to. Well my design has a water theme and it goes together with the Reservoir, in such away that it focuses on it and water pollution in New York City. I painted the Guggenheim Bold Black because I wanted a statement and people to question it. For example if somebody was strolling on Fifth Avenue and saw the museum black they would come to find out what it’s all about, so it has the controversy attached to it. Also there’s the tunnel, which is passing overhead and you also question that, if you noticed it leads to the Reservoir focusing again on the water in NYC. The materials I used are pretty much self explanatory if you look at my piece it has sense of simplicity in it like the paint that I used but then you see the tunnel and the water that is twirling inside of it so you see the fiber glass that holds the tunnel. And then the hill to go up by the Reservoir is done by wood, which adds a whole natural feel to it. It affected my work tremendously because it had me look at the viewers prospective, and how we take like five seconds to look at a piece of art and move ahead, but Daniel Buren says that we should look and try to question it as much as possible and that’s what I wanted to do for the viewer. I so want them to be like why and why this and that. So the inspiration behind this is that I started looking at the boundaries and I got the water idea down pact and from the Reservoir. So that’s about that.
