My brother and I chose
a work of art by Bill Viola titled The
Deluge from a greater project known as Going Forth
By Day. This piece showed how normal lives are caught unprepared
when they have an awareness of something great and deadly about
to happen.
We chose this piece because we felt it showed how people act indifferently
even when life-changing events are about to occur.
Our Flash Movie was based on the panels "The Deluge" and
"The Voyage." We wanted to show that even if catastrophic
events occur, in this case death, life will still prevail and can
even benefit from the aftermath. We have the water to depict something
beautiful and powerful, yet deadly. Death, in this sense, is a giver
of life.
