The duality I choose to explore is:
Dischord/Harmony
I picked this duality because I wanted to take the
two words and make it mean something more. When
most people think of the comparisons of dischord
and harmony, they think of the strongest image,
which is of war and peace. I created two symbols
that I felt represented dischord and harmony in
a most basic way. Dischord is an image of anger
and hatred. Harmony is a symbol of friendship and
cooperation.
I chose to show dischord as a fiery ball of red
fueled by the thoughts of anger and hatred of many
people. Each thought is a strand, or spirit, though
its only distinct features are a head, nose, arms
and hands. The symbol of harmony is also made up
of these beings and they show the effort and cooperation
needed by many people to form a peaceful, harmonic
relationship.
